  • Carpenter's brush.
  • Sandpaper.
  • White glue.
  • Sargentas.
  • Hammer.
  • Wax bar
  • Mountain range.

Step by Step

one. Take the measurements: take out the drawer, turn it around and measure with a measuring tape or a ruler the lowest height of the worn guide. Taking this measure as a reference, draw a straight line from side to side of the side of the drawer.

two. Level the guide: carefully reduce the worn guide with a carpenter's brush or chisel to the extent indicated.

3. Cut a wooden strip of the necessary measures to ensure that, once placed, the guide recovers its original size. It is preferable that the ribbon be made of beech wood or any other type of hardwood.

Four. Rebuild the ribbon: glue the ribbon with white glue. Place some sargentas to put pressure on the wood; this way you make sure that it sticks firmly. Do not forget to put some pieces of wood to protect the drawer from the marks that can produce the pressure of the sargentas. This will make the tail ooze: clean it with a damp cloth.

5. Adjust the rail to the guide, carefully lowering the strip by sanding in the direction of the grain until it penetrates into the structure of the furniture comfortably. Try not to exceed yourself by lowering; Check that you are on the right track by trying the drawer in the cabinet as many times as necessary. To make the new guide slide more easily, rub it with a little wax. Any one candle will work. Also a bar of soap.

6 Check inside: check the interior guides of the furniture and, if necessary, repair them following the same procedure described here.

As you can see, it can be fixed more quickly and easily than we thought. We hope you found this guide to be useful step by step.
