How to make the different spaces and areas of the home when there are no walls that do it or simply to achieve a harmony between all environments? An eternal question that we can solve with decoration.

Whether we are decorating a single room or the entire home, we must not forget that the different spaces are related to each other and there must be a coherencua with a common thread that creates them an idea of totality. A good distribution of space inside the house will make it more comfortable for those who will use it. If we are readpating a space, we will question the previous function of each one of them and we will see if it adapts to our needs. We have to find a balance between volume, function and degree of occupation.
There are some basic premises regarding the distribution of the different spaces of a house: the eating area will be close to the kitchen; close to the bathroom and as far as possible from the areas of greatest circulation and noisiest activities.
We have many resources at our disposal to create these new spaces and we must see which ones respond best to our needs and tastes. The redistribution of partitions is one of them, probably the most used. We can also create new spaces using sliding doors or sliding curtains, resources that help to divide spaces in an undefined way. Furniture can also help to divide spaces and even create them. A group formed by a sofa and a pair of chairs will stretch a living area without having to separate it from the rest of the room with partitions. A carpet will help us to finish delimiting the space. Partitions are not always the solution to organize a house. Although there are people who prefer long corridors, the design that advocates large open spaces is increasingly imposed.
When we find cold spaces or too serious for the hardness of the apprehensions, we can give them more quality and warmth by installing shelves, whether made of wood or work. The shelves and projections and the decoration by means of architectonic elements like cornices or florones, that can be added a posteriori, help also to configure a space with more architectonic interest.
Mirrors are one of the classic resources of decoration, although in modern movements the way to use them has changed a lot: they still offer us the possibility of making the spaces, apparently, larger, but they are no longer used to cover entire walls or to try to disguise elements, such as columns. Mirrors are often used as large paintings that reflect space.
Creating symmetries by adding new elements can disguise the irregularities of space or give more interest and even contributes to order an environment that seems messy. The abundance of horizontal lines in an area gives an impression of relaxation, comfort, and is associated with a younger, current and relaxed lifestyle. The predominance of vertical lines gives a space a more solemn, classical character, and is usually more suitable for the reception rooms. The curved lines provide more feeling of well-being, but their use must be moderated because they can give a feeling of abandonment.
