A house, a style: Colonial

The colonial style arises from the fusion of two cultures: east and west. The classic style European is mixed with rich original pieces from Asia and Central America that become the center of all eyes.
The keys are in the use of dark and solid woods combined with upholstery of natural fabrics (linens, cotton), and the application of moldings bordering ceilings, windows or doors.

The colors should be kept almost always in the range of whites and beige, we can make some exception by adding some mauve, or blue, as long as they are soft and almost neutral tones.
The coating of floors and walls must follow the line marked by this style, being the woods and the natural stone the preferred ones You can also opt for the use of wallpapers, neutral tones and with soft and classic motifs.

The furniture is chosen in rustic and peaceful lines, waxed to give that aspect of false old age that characterizes this style, and without forgetting metal details such as handles and hinges in the case of cupboards and dressers. The accessories, such as lamps, carpets, mirrors or vases, have to be carefully selected to achieve that Asian charm of the late nineteenth century.

The final set will be a warm and friendly atmosphere , with that oriental flavor capable of transporting us to other times and places.
